VOCAL EDUCATION

VOICE LESSONS

My philosophy as a vocal coach is as followed: By promoting healthy and natural singing, my students will be able to showcase the uniqueness of their voices, without compromising the acting of the song. Throughout the Musical Theatre industry, so many aspiring actors and actresses forfeit vocal health to become more like their favorite artist. They believe that to be successful in such a cut-throat industry, they have to mimic big time performing artists. Not only can this be dangerous for untrained voices, but it also strips these bright individuals of what makes them unique and different

Getting to know my students is something I find really important as an educator. While teaching, I love to use mental images so that my students can get a better idea of how the vocal process should be. The most important thing to me is that my students have an image, or something in their life that they can connect to their vocal technique. My first vocal teacher really took the time to understand how I process things, which really benefited my growth as a student. I plan to take that same route with all of my students as well.

VOICE LESSON REVIEWS

“Working with Andrew allowed me to improve my skills and vocal technique in a comfortable setting. Andrew knows a surprising amount of vocal pedagogy for someone his age, but presents it in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. Also, his knowledge of musical theatre makes him a fantastic resource for selecting repertoire. Couldn’t recommend him more for any young actor who is serious about pursuing musical theatre and sharpening their skills.”
